What It Means To Have Spiders At A Filipino Home

We all know the benefits of having spiders at home. According to bio advanced, they help curtail disease spread Spiders feast on many household pests that can transmit disease to humans –Mosquitoes, Fleas, Flies, Cockroaches, and a host of other disease-carrying critters.
Isn’t that amazing? But for Filipinos, there’s a unique reason why some of them don’t destroy or kill these little creatures. It is said that “If you killed or destroyed spiders or their home (web) you’ll be unlucky, be in trouble, etc. for the rest of your life!" (Kowai)
I am not saying that Filipinos don’t clean their houses. There are many of them who doesn’t believe in such things. My girlfriend said she clean them out and nothing bad happened to her. She better be, I am not fond of insects, and I don’t want our house to look like a creepy haunted house. (Hahaha)
Do you fear spiders? (arachnophobia) What are your thoughts about spiders? How about in your culture? What do they think about these little creatures? Let us know in the comment section.
