When I was eating with my friends, I always noticed that they don’t eat the last piece. (Except for my girlfriend, she eats everything, especially Jollibee. Haha) They either tell me to have the last piece or offer it to somebody else.
In Filipino culture, they insist on giving the last piece to someone else, because we all know they are hospitable and generous. Some may be due to shyness but most of the time they just want to give it or share it with others.
Living that last piece is one of the Filipino table etiquettes.
